Panoramic X-Rays

A panoramic x-ray is a 2-dimensional x-ray that shows both the upper and lower jaws and teeth in one film.

The film can then be used to help diagnose different dental problems, including:

  • Orthodontic problems
  • Wisdom Teeth impaction
  • Advanced Periodontal Disease
  • TMJD
  • Oral Cancer
  • & Much More

The process begins with the patient standing in the center of the machine. After the patient bites down on a special tool, the x-ray machine journeys around the head for approximately 20 seconds. After that, the image is displayed either digitally on a computer or processed onto x-ray film.

For more information on panoramic x-rays, or to schedule your appointment today, please feel free to call our office. One of our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you.

Periodontal Disease

It's hard to believe that dental plaque and calculus can cause such destruction.

The buildup of this material around your teeth is what leads you into a state where it will start eating away at the gums, the bone supporting them in an attempt for survival, but there isn't much left by then!

Because the early stages of periodontal diseases are usually painless, they can be difficult to detect.

Some of the signs and symptoms of developing periodontal disease include the following:

  • Loose teeth or receding gums
  • Increased spaces between teeth
  • Persistent bad breath
  • Pus around the gums and teeth
  • Red, bleeding, and inflamed gums
  • Tenderness and discomfort

Periodontal disease is one of the most serious types, and it's also a major concern for many people.

If left unchecked, periodontal can lead to tooth loss as well as other health risks such from damage or infection in other parts of your body which could require costly treatment down the line if not treated quickly enough with us here at our office!
